Dear Parents
Scholarship success
Congratulations to Amelia and Grace C, who have been awarded Sports Scholarships to Milton Abbey, Maya D and Dominique H who have been awarded Sports Scholarships to Canford and Henry T who has won a Sports Award to Bryanston.  That takes the total number of scholarships this year to nine, with many results still to come.
Parents' Evenings after half-term
A big thank you to parents (and Mrs Rielly) for ensuring that the Year 5 Parents’ Evening ran so smoothly this week. Parents of children in Year 6, 7 and 8 (CE candidates) should have received a letter today inviting them to book their appointments for after half-term, using our online system. Please contact Mrs Rielly (k.rielly@dumpton.com) if there are any problems with booking.
Lunchtime Concert
After a delightful Singers’ Assembly on Thursday this week, it was good to see a whole host of musicians performing on the last day of a very long half-term.  We had a total of 35 performers in the Lunchtime Concert in the Recital Room today, playing a range of impressive pieces.  Thank you, as ever, to parents for their support - and well done to all the pupils and teachers involved.
Netball success
Many congratulations to Miss Hammick’s U12 girls who qualified for the County Finals by coming third in their local PEDDSA Tournament.  Mrs Gray’s U13 girls have also had a good week, coming 1st in the PEDDSA Tournament yesterday and winning the very competitive Farleigh Tournament earlier in the week, with an incredibly exciting semi-final against Westbourne House (6-5) and an equally tense final against Farleigh (7-5).  All great practice for the County and IAPS tournaments ahead.
U13 Boys’ Hockey
Well done to the senior boys who have continued to improve at their recent tournaments.  They notched some good wins in the County Finals (and a draw against the eventual winners) and worked very hard at the IAPS Regionals at Millfield yesterday, missing out by the odd goal on several occasions, with wins against All Hallows and Mount Kelly along the way.  Mrs Clemmitt was really proud of the way they played and they were a credit to the school.
IAPS Swimming
We sent a very impressive squad of 23 swimmers to the IAPS regional qualifiers on Tuesday, perhaps our strongest in recent times.  It is difficult to predict how each individual or relay team has done, as times are measured against swimmers all across the country.  However, Mr Jeremiah has high hopes of a number qualifying for the IAPS Nationals at the London Aquatic Centre on 8 June.  Even more impressive was a message of congratulation from the organisers, in which our pupils were commended for the behaviour and positive support for each other.  Very well done to all.
Bryanston Science Competition
Mrs Gatward has asked me to remind parents of pupils in Year 6 and Year 7, that the Bryanston Science Competition has changed its format this year. Full instructions have been given out to all pupils for them to complete their projects over the half term break. If they have lost their instructions please email n.gatward@dumpton.com. Final deadline is Wednesday 27 February.
FoDS Easter Lunch
Message from FoDS: We are holding the annual Easter Lunch on Friday 22 March in The Conservatory at Cranborne Garden Centre from 11.00am.  We have arranged for a guest speaker from Southern Spinal Injury Trust to attend and will be in touch shortly after half term with final details.  Please do e-mail fods@dumpton.com if you have any questions at all in the meantime.  We look forward to seeing you there!
Summer Club
Mme Tulodziecki would like to give all parents advanced warning of her plans for the Summer Club this year.  It proved extremely popular last summer, with numbers growing as the weeks progressed.  It was full for many of the days, suggesting that advanced booking would be advisable.  The dates will once again include the first two weeks of the summer holiday (Monday 8 July – Friday 12 July and Monday 15 July - Friday 19 July).  The sessions will be open to pupils from Year 1 through to Year 8, and will be an exciting mixture of cooking, sublimation printing, tie-dye, mountain biking, tennis, pétanque, swimming and  more.  Mme Tulodziecki has posted a form in the Parents’ Area of the website with more information and booking procedures – the link is detailed below:

Second Hand Uniform Shop - Change of Day
After half term, the second hand shop will be opening on a Monday from 3.30pm – 5.30pm instead of its usual Tuesday slot.  This will be for a trial period until Easter, to help with any items needed for the week ahead.
With best wishes
Andrew Browning
