Dear Parents
Children in Need
Dumpton parent Mrs Sam Dean (Yr7) has asked me to remind you all again about the Pre-Prep Parents’ Toy Sale for Children in Need, which will take place this year on Thursday 15 November.  Last year we raised hundreds of pounds simply by recycling unwanted toys, most at very low prices, for this very worthwhile charity.  Sam has asked if you might start thinking about weeding out a few old favourites and leaving them in the Front Hall where they will be stored ready for resale.  Thank you.
Pre-Prep News
Year 2 had a lovely time at Wardour Castle this week to bring their project work to life.  The Reception children now look forward to visiting Streets Meadow Residential Home for Harvest Festival next Monday (1 October), and looking further ahead, Year 1 will be heading for Wimborne Minster on Tuesday 9 October.
Sporting success
Congratulations to all 26 Dumpton teams who represented the school on the sports field this week. Thank you to all the coaches involved - I always enjoy reading their match reports - and to Steph and the two Mr Randle’s for all their preparation on and off the field. There were many impressive performances and encouraging results but we just have space to mention that the 1st XI boys won well against Walhampton (2-0), and the 1st VII girls impressed against Port Regis (3-1) – and a big well done to the U9 boys who won the BCPS Football Tournament in fine style!
Next Week
Looking forward to next Tuesday (2 October), we have Senior SATIPS Orchestral Day at Bryanston (Mrs Watkiss has written to those involved) and the Year 6 Geography Trip to Lulworth.  We will also be hosting a Prospective Parents’ Open Morning on Friday (5 October), with record numbers booked in to visit.
Individual School Photographs
The proofs should have now arrived home with the children, please can all orders be returned to school by the end of next week (Friday 5 October).

Quiz Night
There are still some tickets available for the Quiz Night on Saturday 6 October, so if you are interested in joining us please hand your forms into the front office as soon as possible.  Teams are usually of 8 -10 but we will be happy to coordinate tables on your behalf, so do please get in touch if you would like to take part.  The staff teams are ready!
School Policies
As part of our regulatory requirements I am required to tell all parents annually that all school policies are available for inspection at any time and can be requested from the School Office. In addition, the Safeguarding Policy and School Ethos (Parents’ Booklet)  is published on the front page of the School Website and the following are available on request and also on the Parents’ Area of the School Website under School Policies: policy and arrangements for admissions, misbehaviour and exclusions, education and welfare provision for pupils with statements and pupils for whom English is an additional language, curriculum policy, policy to promote good behaviour and set out sanctions to be adopted in the event of pupil misbehaviour, anti-bullying arrangements, health and safety policy, first aid policy, health and safety on educational visits (including EYFS), the complaints procedure (including the number of complaints made under the formal procedures in the previous school year) and a copy of the most recent ISI inspection report.  There is also a list of all staff and their qualifications in the Parents’ Area, and academic performance and examination results are outlined each year on the website.  It is also my duty to inform you that the Chair of Governors, Hugh Cocke, can be contacted at the school’s address (Dumpton School, Deans Grove, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 7AF) at any time.
