We promise you the warmest of welcomes during our Open Week - a brilliant chance to see our school in action and feel the Be Kind and Aim High ethos that makes Dumpton such a special place. Feel free to bring your child along, or simply come as parents.

Choose your child's age group

Nursery Age 2–4

Tours will spend time in our Nursery, where children enjoy two spacious activity rooms with free-flow access to our newly refurbished Early Years' Garden. Nursery is the perfect preparation for starting school at Dumpton, and your tour will include visits to classrooms, as well as the specialist sporting, performing arts, creative and outdoor facilities across the school campus. You may also wish to join our Early Years Experience morning, with creative, musical and outdoor activities led by our specialist staff - giving you and your child the chance to experience Dumpton first-hand.

Pre-Prep Age 4–7

Tours will explore our bright and airy Pre-Prep, which offers six classrooms, with Reception rooms on the ground floor and Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms on the first floor. Pre-Prep children enjoy a range of specialist lessons throughout the week, and your tour will take in the specialist sporting, performing arts, creative and outdoor facilities across the school campus, as well as the Prep School teaching block.

Prep Age 7–13

Our Prep School spans Years 3 to 8, with children taught in form groups and moving around the school for specialist lessons, with some subjects set by ability in the senior years. The Prep School timetable is full of breadth and variety, and your tour will take in the academic, sporting, creative, performing arts and outdoor learning facilities across the campus.

Multiple Age Groups

One visit for the whole family - explore our Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep together, and get a taste of the entire Dumpton journey. It's a chance to discover the whole school site and the array of specialist facilities on offer for children of all ages, as well as getting a feel for the Be Kind and Aim High culture that makes Dumpton so special.

Arrival & Welcome

Meet our Headmaster and other Senior staff - enjoy a warm welcome and get a feel for the school as you begin your visit.

Classroom Carousel

Explore our classrooms, meet our teachers and see our classes in action as you discover our inspiring learning environment. Tours will be taken by senior staff and Y8 pupils, and can be either individual tours or in small groups of three or four families.

Explore Our Grounds

Discover our 26-acre site, discover our facilities and experience our unique outdoor learning spaces, state of the art sporting facilities, and array of specialist learning spaces for the creative and performing arts.

PRE-PREP PARENT

Balanced class sizes

We keep our class sizes balanced to ensure every child receives the individual attention and support they need. Pre-Prep classes average 14–15 children with a teacher and teaching assistant, while Prep classes never exceed 20 and are often taught in smaller groups for Maths and English.

Co-curricular programme

We offer an exceptional range of opportunities for all, with sport, performing arts and outdoor learning all forming a significant part of the curriculum. Our co-curricular clubs are broad and varied too, from golf, rowing, and sailing, to sculpture, debating and cooking, giving every child the chance to discover new passions, develop their talents and embrace new experiences.

We are located just outside Wimborne, Dorset. Please follow local signs for Dumpton School and use the BH21 7AF postcode for your sat-nav. On arrival, follow the signs to Deans Grove House.

Where can I park?

Follow the signs to the Main Entrance. The car park is on the left. From there, follow the signs to Reception to sign in.

Is there a Food Allergies/Nut policy?

Dumpton School is a nut-free school and we are happy to cater for all dietary requirements. Please let us know about any allergies or specific dietary needs in advance.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear, as you’ll have the opportunity to explore our beautiful 26-acre site, including woodland areas.

Can I bring younger siblings?

Yes, younger siblings are welcome to attend under your supervision.
