Joining Dumpton

Despite our strong academic record, we are, proudly, not an academically selective school. Our main admissions criteria at Dumpton is to ensure that children joining the school can uphold our values of 'Be Kind' and 'Aim High'.

Children can join the Nursery after they turn two. Priority is given to children who are registered to start school at Dumpton- the majority of children in the Dumpton Nursery are planning on progressing through to the Pre-Prep.

A number of children join Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 each year. There is no formal entry requirement, but children are encouraged to have a taster morning/ day.

Children can join any year in the Prep School, but the most popular entry points are Year 3, Year 5 and Year 7. All children are invited to a taster day, after which a place will be offered should the child meet our admissions criteria.

Visit Dumpton

The first step is for parents to tour the school and meet with the Headmaster. You can arrange a tour with us anytime, alternatively there may be an opportunity to visit with other prospective parents at an Open Morning. We want to provide all the information you need to make the best decision for your family, please contact us with any questions you may have. Following a visit, pupils can be registered for entry at Dumpton. Some years have waiting lists, so we advise parents to register early.

Please complete the enquiry form here or contact Lerryn Chaffey, Head's PA, on 01202 883 818 or

A non-returnable fee of £100 per child is charged when a child is registered with the school. Please complete and return the Registration Form, together with the Registration Fee, to Juliet Siggers, Registrar.
